Tineco vs. Dyson the differences

The Tineco cleaners have LED lights on the cleaning heads that help to track dust and dirt. A handy feature if you vacuum under poor light conditions. Another thing about the Tineco cleaners is that their batteries are detachable. That gives you flex on how long you want the vacuum to last by buying the third battery if needed. Update: the latest Dysons also have all these features.

The Dyson's battery is built-in, however, the manufacturer claims it lasts for up to 15 years.

The filtration system is different too. Both use a HEPA filter but Dyson's filter can be washed with water and should be dried out before using again. Tineco's cleaners have a rinse-free cleaning tool that wipes the dust out of the filter on-the-go so it's always ready to be used.

The fitlration system is sealed which means no dust and particles doesn't leak outside

The Tineco has a power button lock so you don't have to squeeze it as you clean. With a Dyson, you have to hold the power button for the whole cleaning time.

Tineco's high-end devices can be connected to the app and also are integrated with Alexa.

As to smart features, the latest Dyson boosts suction on carpet while the Tineco does the same thing in high-traffic areas like zones with lots of debris.

The Dyson cleaners outperform Tineco's since the latest models have more power. The V11, V11 Outsize, and V15 are the most powerful in the market.

Tineco vs. Dyson: What They Share

Both manufacturers produce cordless vacuums that are well-built, have an easy-to-empty dustbin, convert into a handheld vacuum, safe for allergy sufferers because of a HEPA filter (except for the Dyson V7). Dyson and Tineco have powerful flagship models as well as budget machines with less suction. The two have a similar cleaning roller system, a standard for carpet agitation and a soft roller for hard floors.

Carpet vs. Soft Roller Brush

Even though a carpet brushroll works just fine on hard floors it is important to understand the difference between the two.

  1. The standard cleaning head has stiff bristles to agitate dirt hidden away in carpet. On carpet, it handles even large particles such as cereals and overall has a good pick up ability. On bare floor though, it struggles with big particles, eventually, it picks up everything but it would not be as smooth as with a soft roller brush.
  2. The soft roller brush is specially designed to work on hard floors. It is quieter, handles any kinds and types of debris but is not suitable for carpets. It still can be used on one but it would not be able to agitate dirt and dust.

When to buy the soft roller?

The following models have two cleaning heads in the box, the carpet head, and a soft roller: the Tineco A10/A11 Master, PURE ONE S11 TANGO, S12 PRO+, and all Dyson Absolute modifications. The soft roller is available to buy optionally and can be found for every model that does not have one in the box.

If you have lots of carpets and some small area of hard floors, you probably do not need a soft roller as you would not likely switch between the heads as you clean.

For homes with mostly solid floors, we recommend buying a model with a soft roller in the package or getting one separately.

Dyson

Dyson has produced the V model line that includes the V6, V7, V8, V10, and V11. With the model line going up, the Dyson lasts longer, gets more powerful but also gets heavier. All of them except for the Dyson V7 have a HEPA filter. The V7 has a HEPA modification that includes that filter too.

Normally all modifications have the same specifications and performance, the difference is only in the accessory kit.

  • Motorhead has one main head that is ideal for carpets;
  • Absolute models have two main cleaning heads in addition to extra tools for other cleaning needs. These brushes perform great on bare floor and carpet as well;
  • Animal is something in between. It has many additional tools and one regular brush for carpet cleaning. No soft roller for hard floor cleaning though.

There are other modifications like HEPA, Animal+, etc. The difference between those models would be an accessory kit.

The Dyson V6 has the shortest battery life and weakest suction. It does perform well on thin carpets and hard floors. Not suitable for average and medium houses.

The Dyson V7 is the only model that does not have an Absolute modification and is not HEPA. It does have a HEPA model that is the only in the series safe for allergy and asthma sufferers.

The Dyson V7 lasts longer than the V6 and can be used on medium-pile carpets.

Can not be recommended if you live in a big house with lots of hard floor. Ideal for small houses or apartments with carpets.

The Dyson V8 lasts a bit longer than the V7 and is more powerful. It can be used in small to average homes with carpets and hard floors. The Absolute version is ideal for mostly solid flooring.

The newest Dyson V10 and V11 have the longest runtime, more power, a different type of cleaning brush, and a bigger dustbin.

The Dyson V10 delivers 150 AW in max mode, has three cleaning modes (older models have two), and longer battery life. The Absolute version is ideal for homes with hard floors mostly. It is suitable for big homes with all kinds of surfaces.

The Dyson V11 is the smartest and most powerful in the lineup. It is able to recognize carpet and boosts up suction to a max level providing deeper cleaning. Also, it is equipped with a display that allows switching between cleaning modes, tracking estimated battery life, and seeing accessories status. And, the Dyson V11 has the most powerful motor in the industry and an insanely long running time.

Read what the Dyson V11's pros and cons after 7 months of using.

Dyson V11 the smartest cordless vacuum cleaner from the model line

Dyson V11 display

The Dyson V11 Outsize was built for big homes with carpets and hard floors. It is the most powerful in the industry, has swappable batteries, and is the biggest dustbin. Its cleaning head is 25% wider than other models which helps to get the job done faster.

To conclude:

  • The Dyson V6 Absolute is suitable for small homes with some low-pile carpets. Better to use on hard floors.
  • The Dyson V7 is not recommended for allergy and asthma sufferers. Ideal if your surface is about carpets. For small homes.
  • The Dyson V8 is a good vacuum for a mixed surface, low and medium-pile carpets. Not capable of deep carpet (high-pile) cleaning.
  • The Dyson V10 is ideal for hard floors and all types of carpets including high-pile. Performs well at deep carpet cleaning and easily handles pet hair.
  • The Dyson V11 is a great cleaner for big houses with carpets and some hard floors (the Absolute version is suitable for both surfaces). Ideal for pet hair and those who are allergy-sensitive. Can replace a traditional corded vacuum.
  • The Dyson V11 Outsize is ideal for those who live in a large house with carpets and have pets. It is the most powerful cordless vacuum cleaner in the industry that has detachable batteries and a large dirtbin.

Tineco vacuum cleaners lineup

In Tineco comparison chart there is more info about the difference between the models. The Tineco cleaners have detachable batteries, a switch lock that holds the power button in On position as you clean, LED light to track dust in dark places, and a HEPA filter for those who suffer from allergy or asthma.

Tineco Hero/Hero EX vs. Tango: What is the difference?

The every-need-met accessories that come in the box. Tineco is generous with extra tools.

The Tineco Tango modifications have two main cleaning heads: one has stiff bristles and is suitable for carpet cleaning. Another one is a soft-roller head that is ideal for hardfloor cleaning. The Master also has some more extra tools the Hero lacks.

The EX and Pro+ modifications include an additional battery.

Tineco A10 vs. Tineco A11

Same as with Dyson, the Tineco has some improved things in its A11 model line over the A10. Mostly it is about battery life, dustbin size, and suction power, but the latest smart S11 and S12 lineup have more smart features compared to the basic A10 and A11 Series.

The Tineco A10 series is the cheapest and has the smallest battery. It is not suitable for medium-pile carpets but does the job on hard floors. Not recommended if your home is mostly covered with carpets. I would recommend getting the A11 series as it is more powerful and lasts longer. The Tineco A11 Hero EX comes with an additional battery in the box and is more suitable for low-pile carpets and bigger homes.

The Tineco A11 Tango includes an extra soft roller for hard floors. Has a bigger dustbin and can be used in homes with medium-pile carpets.

Tineco A10/A11 vs. Tineco PURE ONE Series

The Tineco PURE ONE S12 is a significant step forward over the Tineco A10/A11 models. It is smarter, more powerful, and has a longer-lasting battery.

The newest Tineco has high-end features other models do not. The Tineco PURE ONE S11 TANGO EX, PURE ONE S12 M / M Lite and PURE ONE S12 / PRO EX are a bit different; earlier, we explained the differences among the Tineco PURE ONE S12 models. The newest models are ideal for big homes, pets, and carpets. It is capable of deep cleaning carpets thanks to the strong suction and dust detect.

The Tineco PURE ONE S12 detects dirty areas and provides deeper cleaning on those spots

Tineco PURE ONE Series

Tineco's smart series cordless vacuums are called PURE ONE and have three main model lines:

  • PURE ONE S12 has two modifications, the S12, and S12 PRO EX.
  • PURE ONE S11 includes two options, the S11, and S11 TANGO. There is also a PURE ONE S11 Spartan that is only available in Walmart

To know more about the difference between all smart models, read the Tineco PURE ONE comparison.

There is another modification, the PURE ONE X and X TANGO that have longer battery life and the battery is not detachable. It is not as powerful as the other models in the series but has a display and dust identification and is ideal for those who do not need extra power for cleaning carpets yet want a smart and budget vacuum.

Tineco PURE ONE S11/TANGO EX vs. S12/S12 PRO EX

The S12 series has more power, an advanced display, suction control, and a longer battery life.

Because of two cleaning heads, the Tineco PURE ONE S12 PRO EX is ideal for carpet and bare floor

The Tineco PURE ONE S12 PLUS (Pro EX) has a display, two cleaning heads with LED lights: one for carpet, the other one for bare floor. Also, this model allows adjusting suction power depending on your needs and includes some extra accessories. The Tineco PURE ONE S12 and PRO EX versions have longer battery life and are more suitable for bigger households.

To conclude:

  • the Tineco A10 Series is better to use on hard floors and occasional low-pile carpets. Not suitable for deep carpet cleaning. Suitable for allergy sufferers.
  • The Tineco A11 Series can be used on a mixed surface with low and medium-pile carpets and some hard floors. Not capable of deep carpet (high-pile) cleaning.
  • The Tineco PURE ONE S11 is ideal for homes with hard floors and carpets. It is weaker than the S12 series and is not suitable for big homes yet is powerful and is capable of cleaning carpets.
  • The Tineco PURE ONE S12 Series is for those who want a premium and powerful vacuum cleaner with some smart features, that would be able to provide deep cleaning even on high-pile carpets and handle pet hair. Depending on how much you want a display, adjustable suction power, and a soft roller, choose between the M Series and S12 Series.

Tineco A11 Hero EX vs. Dyson V7 Animal

We do not compare the Tineco A10 with a Dyson simply because even the oldest Dyson V6 has more power. But the Tineco A10 is the cheapest in the lineup and cheaper than any Dyson. The Dyson V6 is hard to find so we do not compare it with any Tineco as well.

In general, the Tineco A11 series has more power, a bigger dustbin, lasts longer, and its battery is detachable which means you can switch between batteries for a longer clean.

The significant difference between the Tineco A11 and Dyson V7 is that the Tineco A11 Tango has a soft roller in the box which makes it better for hard floors. The Dyson V7 does not offer an option with a soft roller.

When the Dyson V7 is really good for carpet but would not be suitable for homes with mostly hard flooring. In any case, a soft roller for both cleaners is available to buy optionally.

If you mostly have hard floors, go with the Tineco A11 Tango. For carpets get the Dyson V7

Also, only the Dyson V7 HEPA is suitable for allergy sufferers. The Tineco A11 both modifications include a HEPA filter.

If you suffer with allergy or asthma consider either getting the Dyson V7 HEPA or a Tineco A11

If you mostly have hard floors, consider either getting a separate soft roller for the Dyson V7 or the Tineco A11 Tango.

On carpets, they both do a food job, but the Dyson V7 does it slightly better.

Another thing is allergy and asthma. For those who are sensitive to dust, the Tineco would be better or go with the Dyson V7 HEPA.

If you want to have a cheap Dyson but you suffer from an allergy, buy the Dyson V6 Absolute, it has shorter runtime but it has a soft roller head for hard floors too.

Tineco A11 Tango vs. Dyson V8 Absolute

The Dyson does not have LED lights and its battery is not detachable. The two have very similar specifications tho.

The Tineco A11 Master and Dyson V8 Absolute come with two main cleaning heads: a soft roller brush and a standard one. Both models are suitable for deep cleaning thin carpets and some medium-pile carpets on high power settings. The Dyson V8 has a bit more power in high settings but it lasts 6-8 minutes as the Tineco - up to 15 minutes.

The Dyson V8 has a slightly smaller dustbin. Not noticeable if you don't have pets that shed lots.

If you want a longer battery life that covers more and is more suitable for bigger households - get the Tineco. Yes, the Dyson performs a little bit better on Max mode yet it has short battery life.

The Dyson V8 and Tineco A11 are good for average homes with a mixed surface

With detachable batteries, strong suction, LED lights, and long battery life, the Tineco A11 Master is a great vacuum cleaner to get in 2020. For a big home, get the Tineco A11 Hero EX

If you mostly have carpets in your home, the Dyson V8 Absolute does slightly better than the Tineco so might be a better option. For a mixed surface, they are equal.

Tineco PURE ONE S11 vs. Dyson V10

The Tineco PURE ONE S11 has another modification, the S11 TANGO. The latest comes with two cleaning heads in the box including a soft roller.

The Dyson V10 has three modifications: Motorhead, Animal, and Absolute. Let's compare the Tineco PURE ONE S11 TANGO and Dyson V10 Absolute.

Compared to the PURE ONE S11, the Dyson V10 has more power and does better at deep cleaning high-pile carpets. It also lasts longer and is more suitable for bigger homes. On max mode, the Tineco gives less power but lasts longer than the Dyson.

The Tineco also is smarter as it senses dust and boosts suction for better performance. It also has a smart display.

On hard floors, they perform about the same.

The Dyson V10 is better for high-pile carpets but the Tineco is smarter and more efficient

Another point is the price, the Dyson is ~$100 expensive.

If you have a mixed surface, the Tineco is a smarter option that also costs less.

For mostly carpeted surface with medium and high-pile carpets, better go with the Dyson V10.

Tineco PURE ONE S12 vs. Dyson V11

The PURE ONE S12 has 3 modifications. The Dyson V11 (in the US) is available in two options and the V11 Outsize is the biggest and most powerful.

The prices for a Tineco start at $400 and end up at $700. The Dyson Animal will cost you $600 and the Outsize about $1,000. We have talked a bit about the difference between the latest models Dyson V11 and Tineco PURE ONE S12.

In terms of suction, the Dyson V11 is more powerful. It does better at deep carpet clean especially those that are high-pile.

The Dyson V11 is the most powerful cordless vacuum cleaner in the industry

The Outsize has the longest runtime and the biggest dustbin in the industry. One thing that is missing here is that none of those V11 modifications come without a soft roller.

The Dyson increases suction on carpet when the Tineco on a big amount of dust. Also, the Tineco is slightly better at resisting pet hair tangling.

If you mostly have hard floors, you might go with the Tineco PURE ONE S12 PRO EX.

For mostly carpeted surface with thick carpets, the Dyson V11 would be a good buy. Those who live in a big house with pets might consider getting the Dyson V11 Outsize.

The Dyson adapts suction power on carpets. The Tineco does the same on big amount of dusts

Both models are ideal for big homes with carpeted surface, and pet hair.

If you want a premium cordless vacuum, have a look at the Tineco PURE ONE S12 or Dyson V11

For those who live in a big house and don't want to empty the dustbin after every cleaning cycle, Dyson has released a newer model, the Dyson V11 Outsize. It has detachable batteries that give the longest runtime in the industry. Also, it is equipped with the largest 1,890 ml dustbin and has a wider cleaner head for more efficient cleaning.

The Dyson V11 Outsize is for large houses
